About Bentonite Pro
Bentonite Pro supplies high-purity sodium bentonite fines direct from the mine for dam and pond sealing. We sell one product, a 1.2 tonne bulk bag, to farmers, contractors and developers across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Who we are
Bentonite Pro is operated by BDDC Pty Ltd (ABN 41 688 952 427), the company behind Big Ditch Dam Building Company, which builds, inspects and repairs farm dams. Bentonite Pro is led by Angus Hughson, CEO of the Big Ditch Dam Building Company, and operates from Port Macquarie NSW. With 24 years of dam building experience and more than 340 dams completed, our team provides practical advice and reliable supply across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
What we supply
- Sodium bentonite fines in a 1.2 tonne FIBC bulk bag at $295 + GST per tonne ($354 + GST a bag), plus freight calculated to your address.
- Typical montmorillonite content above 90% and a typical swell index of 7 to 16 mL/2 g, as stated in the product specification sheet.
- One bag provides material for 40 m² at our recommended application rate of 30 kg/m², before any allowance.
Our sodium bentonite can be used in suitable, properly designed and installed treatments for farm dams, ponds and water containment structures. Assess the soil and the cause of leakage before selecting a treatment.

- Request a delivered quote. We confirm freight, unloading and timing before an order is accepted.
If you need the leak diagnosed or the treatment installed, Big Ditch provides dam inspection and repair.
